Broomfield County is the newest and smallest county of Colorado. Originally part of Boulder County in the 1960's, the area grew and land that was annexed into this municipality had eventually crossed 3 other County lines. In order to create a more uniform governance for the residents and businesses in this area, city leaders pushed to create a new County.
